Karen accepted Christ early in her life and was a student leader in a college ministry at Eastern Kentucky. Rick did not receive Christ until he was 24. Coming to Christ as an adult played a critical role in Rick’s life. The witness of other believers and his personal journey toward Jesus drove home the importance of “having an answer for the hope that is within you”, as well as being able to meet people where they are in sharing Christ’s love.
Twenty years ago God gave the Rogers family a vision for ministry. Ever since, the Lord has guided them into ministry opportunities in St. Louis, MO and Columbus, OH. This included six years of volunteering with Student Venture and ten years on staff. Their ministry is one of equipping the saints and reaching out to those on their journey to faith in Christ. Rick’s ministry call has always been to use his skills to enable field ministry to be more effective. Now the Lord has opened the door to impact the world for Christ not only with youth, but with people from all walks of life with Athletes in Action who love sports. The Rogerses, married for 30 years (Sept 5th), have been blessed with seven children. See Our Role.
